Mr. Shoys retired as an executive officer at Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), a state-wide membership organization of manufacturers, service companies, local chambers of commerce, and trade associations. With 3800 members, WMC promotes a competitive business environment in Wisconsin. Mr. Shoys has developed policy and strategy recommendations for the organization, having had 21 years of experience there. He managed internal operations including, finance, human resources, international business activities, information technology, and manages the WMC for-profit subsidiary. Mr. Shoys formerly worked as the Executive Vice President and COO at the Wisconsin Hospital Association where he had responsibility for hospital environmental compliance. and negotiated healthcare related environmental regulations with state agencies. He holds the following licenses: Registered Professional Engineer (Wisconsin), and Life, Health, Property & Casualty Insurance (Wisconsin). He received an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Executive Program, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Executive Vice President, Most, Inc., Industrial Manufacturing Sector
Mr. Baffa is an executive at Most, Inc. and Kentucky Smelting Technology, two business units of Toyota Tsusho America. He is responsible for the overall business and operations of Toyota's secondary aluminum smelting facilities in Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky. Before this, Mr. Baffa spent 24 years with Modine and held several positions there throughout his tenure. From 1985 to 1994, Mr. Baffa was in Modine's corporate purchasing department. In 1988 he was named Director with responsibility for all of Modine's purchasing activities and in 1993 was tasked with global responsibility when Modine made a major acquisition in Germany to expand their presence in the European markets. From 1995–1998, Mr. Baffa was operations manager for Modine's Heavy Duty and Industrial Division, where he had responsibility for five major manufacturing facilities. In late 1998, as the fuel cell industry was attracting a great deal of attention throughout the industry, he was asked to study and evaluate Modine's potential prospects in this area. At Mr. Baffa's suggestion, Modine formed a Fuel Cell group in 2000 to focus on the emerging market opportunities presented by the fuel cell industry. Modine is recognized as the leader in providing innovative thermal management solutions to both the fuel cell and hydrogen infrastructure industries. Mr. Baffa has a BA degree in Microbiology from the University of Montana.
Vice President, State Bank of Cross Plains
Kevin J. Mahaney, a resident of Middleton, Wisconsin has B.A. from Olivet College, Olivet, Michigan with a double major in Business Administration (Accounting Concentration) and Political Science, and an M.B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He began a career in banking with American National Bank in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He spent 5 years in a management training program throughout various departments in the bank. He later transitioned into the private industry for 16 years in Michigan and Wisconsin.
Prior to moving to Wisconsin in 1996, he served as the Corporate Credit Manager for Packerland Packing Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin, a $700MM operation. He spent 3 years with Springs Window Fashions as a financial analyst assigned to the Distributor/Fabricator Division. He returned to banking in 1999 joining Associated Bank as the Regional Credit Manager for the Madison office and was later promoted into the role of A.V.P.-Business Banking. In 2003 he moved to Capitol Bank, Madison, a recent de novo bank with just over $100MM in assets.
He joined State Bank of Cross Plains in 2012 and today manages a commercial loan portfolio of over $100MM. His current role as Vice President-Commercial Banking has broadened his experience over the past 8 years to include a wide array of lending opportunities including the economic revitalization of Cross Plains. He just completed several PPP applications for a number of customers to assist them through these challenging economic times. Soon he will be closing two transactions worth over $35MM involving a new residential subdivision in Dane County and the construction of a new senior housing facility. He is an experienced lender in commercial real estate, residential development, revolving lines of credit, acquisitions, capital expenditures, and TIF loans.
He served as President of the Middleton Chamber of Commerce and chaired the Finance Committee for 5 years for the Town of Middleton. He is also President of the Middleton Area Development Corporation, a $4MM private economic development fund promoting business development in the City of Middleton.
Energy Portfolio Manager, APTIM (Focus on Energy Program Administrator)
Ms. Wojcik’s responsibilities at APTIM include acting as the Energy Portfolio Manager of the Focus on Energy Administrator team where she provides oversight and management of Focus on Energy’s energy efficiency and renewable energy programs serving business and residential customers. Ms. Wojcik has been a part of the Focus on Energy Program since 2006 and has held a variety of roles including working directly with customers in an Energy Advisor position, overseeing and managing Trade Ally engagement, and as a Program Manager overseeing program delivery and strategy. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and is a Certified Energy Manager, a certification through the Association of Energy Engineers. Wojcik represents the Focus on Energy Program on the Technology Investment Fund Board consistent with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission approved Policies and Procedures Manual.
